Why More WELL APs Are Switching to Sensor Data: Cost Breakdowns, Point Opportunities, & Best Practices from the Field

May 28, 2025
2PM EDT | 11AM PDT

Are performance tests adding complexity to your WELL projects? In this webinar, we’ll explore why more WELL APs and consultants are turning to indoor air quality (IAQ) sensors as a smarter, more scalable pathway to achieving WELL certification—especially for Air and Thermal Comfort features. Backed by real-world project data and cost comparisons, you’ll learn how the sensor data pathway not only reduces costs significantly but also offers higher point returns.

We'll be joined by WELL Faculty and award-winning WELL AP, Jennifer Berthelot-Jelovic, as we debunk common concerns, share practical strategies for sensor placement and compliance, and offer insights into using IAQ data beyond just certification. Whether you're exploring options for your next project or looking to optimize your current approach, this session is designed to show you how to make WELL more affordable, accessible, and impactful.

By the end of this session, you'll be able to:

  • Compare the cost and point return of performance testing versus sensor data pathways for WELL certification.
  • Identify best practices for sensor placement and planning to improve project compliance.
  • Understand how to submit sensor data for WELL and streamline recertification efforts.
  • Analyze detailed cost breakdowns from WELL-certified projects of all sizes to understand the financial impact of using sensor data.
  • Understand additional use cases for sensor data beyond WELL certification, such as ongoing indoor air quality monitoring for occupant health and building performance.
